Apply for a Grant

We welcome applications from organizations doing meaningful work in our communities. All applications are submitted through our online Grants Portal.

Application Process

Our process is designed to be thorough but accessible. Here’s what to expect.

Confirm Eligibility and Choose a Grant Type

Before applying, confirm that your organization:
  • Is a verified 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
  • Primarily serves Utah residents.
  • Provides programs or services aligned with one of the Foundation’s five giving pillars: health and medicine; shelter and food security; education and skill development; jobs and economic self-reliance; or cultural and spiritual enrichment.  
Select the grant type that best fits your request:
  • Strategic Initiative Grant
  • Community Support Grant
  • Westside Community Grant
  • General Operating Grant (GO Grant)
Organizations may apply for only one grant annually and may not apply for multiple grant types in the same year.

Create an Account and Complete the Application

Visit the Grants Portal link, create an account or sign in, and choose Apply. Then select the appropriate grant type and follow the application instructions.  

  • Be prepared to provide information such as:
    • Organization and contact information
    • IRS 501(c)(3) documentation
    • Amount requested
    • Project or program description
    • Population and geographic area served
    • Project budget and timeline
    • Organizational budget and financial information
    • Evaluation and impact measures

Incomplete applications may not be considered.

Submit by the Deadline and Monitor Your Application

Review your application carefully, confirm that all required attachments are included, and submit it by the deadline listed for the selected grant type:
After submission, monitor your email and grants-portal account for requests for additional information or updates about the review process. 

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
  • Must serve communities in the state of Utah
  • Must demonstrate alignment with one or more of our five giving pillars
  • Must demonstrate clear, measurable outcomes and impact
